Privacy

This is my personal website. Here's what it collects, why, and how long it's kept. Last updated November 3, 2026.

When you send me a message

The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. It also sends where your visit came from: a campaign tag if the link you followed had one, the name of the website that linked here, and the first page you landed on. That helps me know which links work. It never includes anything that identifies you beyond what you typed.

Your message is checked for spam on my web server, then delivered to my email inbox, which Google Workspace hosts. The web server doesn't keep a copy. I use your details only to reply to you, and I keep the email for as long as our conversation is useful. Ask me and I'll delete it.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, how they found the site, which sections they read, and whether they clicked a button or sent a message. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga) to tell one visit from the next.

It never receives what you type into the contact form: not your name, email address or message. Google processes this data for me under its own terms. You can block it with your browser's cookie settings or with Google's opt-out add-on.

Server logs and spam protection

  • Like most websites, my server logs each request: your IP address, browser and the page asked for. The logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and they're deleted after 14 days.
  • To limit spam, the contact form counts messages per network using a one-way, keyed scramble of your IP address. That count expires after an hour.

Fonts

The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to fetch them.

What I don't do

I don't sell or share your information, show ads, or use any cookies other than Google Analytics.
